Hi Mike, there was a plan to be at Kemah at 8 a.m. this Saturday the 3rd, to meet up with several of the Corvette guys. But it ended up they couldn't make it. We have a plan now of meeting in Kemah the morning of the 10th. They were going to talk to me(us) about everything that happens, I think we were going to do a walkabout, and I think even someone from the Boardwalk was going to be there. But again this particular meeting has been changed to the 10th. Yes we are just going directly to the Uptown area. Look at the map in post 121 for our planned parking location.

Well the car is "clean" just dusty from 2 days of driving. Plan on leaving the house around 7 or so and its about a 20/30 minute drive down there. Will do a quick detail spray run around her once there.

I think we were all discombobulated this AM. I was able to park in the usual spot with only two spots left. Moved to the front of Andres. I can get there much earlier next time and reserve some spots (I was there at around 7:25). I was thinking the club could buy the mini-orange cones for this scenario. They could even have a club logo if it didn't upset peeps. Another thought would be to purchase a rally flag. I may not be able to find my car in a parking lot but I can sure see things popping out in a sea of cars. There would be an additional cool and advertisement factor. Any thoughts?

This morning was different to say the least. Only saw Larry and Chris that I can remember. Definitely need to try and wake up earlier and get down there to help save spots, or even just get one for myself. That was CRAZY. Ended up parking near our usual spot infront of that dumpster bay thing in the middle of the drive haha.

Yep...my brother is very involved in the Mopar club Space City something...(he has a Challenger and Charger he's throwing money at...snort). They have chapters at each corner of the Houston area and converge on meets in waves. I believe they had 50+ new members in their last drive this quarter.

Just letting you guys know that if you come down I-10 from the east there is a HPD officer thats luking between Westscott and 610, and he does not have an appreciation for the beloved Camaro as we do. I'v also seen them at the I-10, 45 interchange merging onto I-10 going west, he's typically parked on the left side up against a wall that makes up the HOV bridge into downtown. Could be the same officer at the Wescott location?

JUST RECEIVED THIS MESSAGE FROM THE HOUSTON C&C ORGANIZER !!!

Everyone,

We will be gathering tomorrow morning for another morning full of amazing machines and incredible people. We are expecting great weather with no rain. Here's a brief message regarding some guidelines that we would like to communicate to everyone.

Regarding where the cars will be parking, it is on the east side of the site (on the side where the theater is).

1. If you're not bringing a car to display, park in the parking garage behind the center, to free ground spaces for cars being shown. The garage is easy to access from either east or west side.
2. We will have portable toilets, so please don't ask the MarqE tenants for use of their facilities.
3. Clean up your trash. There will be some trash barrels near the vendors, and we'll try to have a few others on the far side of the site.
4. Do not congregate near the feeder road for pictures. Coffee & Cars is about the parked cars, it's not about the Grand Entrance or Exit. There should be plenty of opportunities to take pictures while the cars are parked.
5. Don't bring anything to sell. This is not a commercial venue.
6. No burnouts. We'll have HPD on hand to pass out flyers (called tickets) for those that can't seem to understand this. One incident will kill this monthly gathering. If you can't exit without leaving rubber on the feeder road, don't come out.

On the up side, everyone should be pleased with the improved coffee service. Amaya Roasters will be bringing out a full coffee service (yep, expresso bar and everything). These folks are pretty much the top end for all things java, and even do barrista competitions. And Frosted Betty will be on hand with their magical cupcake confections.

Let's all have a great time and make our gathering enjoyable for everyone in attendance. Please be conscious that many young children who already at a young age share our passion for these amazing machines, attend our gathering as well as families, it is our job to make this an enjoyable experience and safe for them and everyone else.

If you know of someone who isn't getting the e-mail, please let me know by replying to this e-mail, and I'll add them to our list.

Folks,

Due to the uncooperative nature of the Edwards MarqE property management, we will not be having a Cars & Coffee gathering this month. For those of you who attended our January gathering, I think you will agree it was one of the best we've ever had - both from the standpoint of the vehicles present, and also in terms of traffic management (and the virtual elimination of reckless driving). During the event, LA Fitness sold several memberships and is now an enthusiastic supporter, Red Robin offered to help not only with providing food and restrooms, but also with the costs of security. We felt we were on pretty solid ground with continuing the event at this site.

Not so. Without having attended either the December or January gatherings, the property manager informed us that she's received numerous complaints and that we are no longer welcome. We made a very concerted effort to improve our gathering, but ultimately it was not enough to satisfy the MarqE management.

At this point we're in preliminary talks with a commercial site that has no retail space. Since the MarqE provided no amenities to us and we've had to coordinate that ourselves, we feel that a non-retail commercial location could free us from constantly coping with retail patron parking places. I will inform everyone as soon as I know any details.

Not going to make this. I'm supposed to be picking up my car tomorrow, but probably not in time. Besides...having this at Lamborghini of Houston is going to be insane! I'll be at 59 Diner that evening. So let's see.....Lambo from 7 to 9, work from 10 to 3, Diner from 4-7...the wifes gonna kill me!!!! ( weather permitting - on the killin). I'll take pics of the Lambo event if I go....
